Is James Bond moving into a retirement home?

For some, the world of retirement living may seem luxurious and enjoyable, but hardly the most exciting thing to watch a television program about. But a British tabloid reports that a new show is in the works which just might change that.

According to a recent article in the British newspaper Metro, screen legend Sean Connery will join comedy producer Ricky Gervais as two residents in a retirement living community.

Connery, known for his roles as James Bond, will reportedly play a friend of Gervais while the two enjoy life in senior living.

“Ricky is in charge of the project and plays a man called Derek, living in an old people's home, while Sean has been asked to play his elderly mate in the home,” the newspaper quoted a source as saying.

Gervais is a well-known British comedy writer who has produced The Office television show, among others.

The British Office of National Statistics reports there are about 14 million people over the age of 60 in the country, making them nearly one-quarter of the total population, so if television shows featuring assisted living communities are a new development now, they may be far more common in the years to come.
