Assisted living comes by many names, such as residential care, board and care, or group homes. Generally, retirement homes are designed for seniors who need minimal to moderate support with their daily living activities. A retirement home is a multi-residence housing facility intended for senior citizens. Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. Other licensure terms used for this philosophy of care include Residential Care Home, Assisted Care Living Facilities, and Personal Care Homes. Retirement homes are privately owned rental accommodations for seniors who are able to manage and pay for their own care. Independent living is a general name for any housing arrangement designed exclusively for seniors. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care.
