A new website may be able to assist nursing care providers and others who help senior citizens provide better healthcare options and choices for assistance.

One of the more recent articles, Medicare Basics for Caregivers, was adapted from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services pamphlet on Medicare basics because "a caregiver who is knowledgeable about Medicare can be an informed advocate for an older loved one who needs to access the benefits the program provides," according to Dr Marie Bernard, NIA deputy director.


Seniors, 70 percent of whom use time online to research health issues according to the department of Health and Human Services, may have easier access to the website thanks to the use of videos and audio, as well as different size fonts to make the articles easier to read.
