Thanks to medical advancements, around the world, people are living longer than ever before. In the United States, women live to about 80, and men to about 75, and in Canada, women live to about 83 and men to about 78.

But some people live far longer than that.

For many low-income seniors, finding the money for daily living can be a challenge. With the rising cost of living and the high cost of rent and mortgages, gasoline, utilities and groceries, money is very tight for many retirement living seniors.

As a result, many low-income seniors don’t have enough money for potentially life-saving security systems for their homes.

If you ever get a raise at work, maybe you should think twice before accepting it. A new study, as quoted in the Daily Telegraph, says that richer people are less likely to care for their aging parents than people with less money.
