Baby boomers have been known to redefine the norm, but if they want to continue to do so into their retirement living years, they need to focus on fitness now, according to a recent report, according to the Observer-Dispatch.
Dr. Frank Dubeck, the chief medical officer and vice president of medical policy at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, explained that a recent report showed that baby boomers are not doing what they should be at their age to stay fit, according to the news source.
There are things they can do now, however, that will help them in the future including receiving an annual physical from their physician, changing eating habits and exercising more often, the media outlet reports.
According to AARP, there are a number of things that boomers can do now that will help them later in life. One example is getting their flu shot. Many boomers do not want to sit out their favorite activity because they caught the flu this winter, so they should get the shot now and prevent a sickness later on.
