She leads the JUNO nominated Orchid Ensemble and offers interactive entertainment of Chinese music - voice and traditional instruments, performed by internationally renowned musicians in solo, duo, or trio formats. The wide array of musical instruments creates timbre and colors that stimulate all senses! Great for Chinese New Year, Autumn Moon Festival, Asian Heritage Month, World Music Day, Multicultural Month celebrations or other special events for a unique experience! The instrumentation includes Chinese traditional vocal style, the erhu - Chinese two-string violin, the zheng - Chinese zither/harp, percussion instruments from around the world, including a full size concert marimba, and the piano (different combinations to be discussed). The repertoire includes Chinese classical and folk music, as well as popular Chinese tunes from the dance halls in Shanghai between 1930s-40s. The Orchid Ensemble tours regularly across North America. We offer multilingual presentation in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
