Dedicated in 1983, Gila Regional Medical Center is one of the newest and most modern health care facilities in New Mexico. As the largest hospital in a 100-mile radius, we are southwest New Mexico's medical hub and provide a wide range of services and medical specialties to the people of Grant, Luna, Hidalgo and Catron counties.
Health Care Services
A full range of home health care services are available in southwest New Mexico through Gila Regional Medical Center's Home Care Services. A licensed and certified home health agency, Gila Regional's Home Care Services is comprised of:
· Specially trained staff of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and other health care professionals.
· They provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. In addition, professional nursing assistance is available on an emergency basis by phone 24 hours a day.
· Home health professionals provide skilled and nonskilled nursing care as well as physical rehabilitation services, both on an extended and an intermittent basis.
· RNs and LPNs provide skilled nursing care, pre- and postnatal care, child health services and health counseling to patients and their families.
· Registered physical and occupational therapists evaluate, plan and implement rehabilitation programs in the home.
Home health aides assist patients with personal care and exercise programs, and the homemaker aide provides nonskilled care for extended hours. This includes light housekeeping duties and other functions to help people remain in their homes.
Hospice Services
Hospice recognizes that dying people and those close to them have special physical, psychosocial, spiritual and practical needs.
· Gila Regional's Hospice team provides skilled medical, nursing and counseling care in the warm, supportive atmosphere of the patient's home. With Hospice, the emphasis is on quality, not quantity, of time. |
