It took residents of Mercy Marydale Center nearly all of Tuesday morning to hide Easter eggs throughout their dining room.
It took less than five minutes for a group of children to find each plastic treasure.
Students from a special-education class at Garfield Elementary School visited the retirement community Tuesday as part of an ongoing relationship between the two.
The visit focused on Easter as students made rabbit pins, pinned the cottontail on the rabbit and got a visit from the Easter Bunny.
"Very good," said class member Talon Ferguson, 10, as he dived into a small Easter basket overflowing with candy and toys.
Then it was on to a bag of 15 plastic eggs Talon collected during the egg hunt.
"Wow, double candy," he said breaking open a purple egg to find a bulging candy wrapper inside.
