CAMDEN (Nov 14): Harmonious and safe homes are imperative at any age, but perhaps especially so for the elderly. On Nov. 16, Quarry Hill will address the topic when it hosts a day-long conference, "Home Safety Feng Shui: Your Guide to Creating a Healthy and Harmonious Living Space." Quarry Hill is a retirement community in Camden and part of Northeast Health.
It will be a day of practical workshops geared toward those age 55 and older, and will offer a lot more than just a rundown of the latest in medical technology. The day will also incorporate the esoteric yet popular approach to interior design called feng shui. A Chinese art, feng shui involves positioning objects in buildings and landscapes based on the belief in positive and negative effects of the patterns of yin and yang and the flow of chi, the energy inherent in all things.
