The holiday season will be a little brighter this year for more than 1,400 area seniors, thanks to the Be a Santa to a Senior program.
The program, formerly known as Santa for Seniors, was launched in 1999 by the Thrifty Nickel to connect the public with area seniors in need of some holiday cheer. Joining the effort this year are Home Instead Senior Care and other businesses.
