By Ryan Jensen Oct 26 2005 More than two decades of hard work and lobbying by a group of dedicated individuals and organizations culminated in the grand opening of the Stuart Nechako Manor on Oct. 21. Dignitaries and stakeholders from all over the region joined about 200 members of the community in officially opening the long-term care facility that has been in the works, in one form or another, since the early 1980s. Prince George - Omineca MLA John Rustad expressed thanks to those who made the project a reality and never gave up on the possibility of having such a facility. “I’d like to say thank you - for your patience and for the commitment you have had to make the Stuart Nechako Manor happen,” he said. “Twenty-three years is such a long time to be waiting to build a project like this. It was really the vision and the leadership in this community that brought this forward.”
