ROMEOVILLE — Trustees dropped discussion of a retirement community after developers withdrew plans for an on-site medical facility.
When PRDC Illinois first brought concept plans for a retirement community to the board in March, a medical facility was part of the project. The concept plan was on Wednesday's agenda, but the medical facility was gone from the site plan drawing, and trustees decided not to continue with the discussion.
"I don't like seeing something coming back differently," Mayor Fred Dewald said.
Trustees Andy Goitia and John Noak both said the lack of a medical facility is a major concern. Trustees said they were going to take some time over this project.
Many other concerns by village officials were part of a 10-page review committee letter sent to PRDC Illinois earlier. One concern was an absence of curbs and gutters and an open ditch system rather than an enclosed storm-sewer system the village requires.
