Assisted living facility slated to open in 2006
Date Added: 07-09-2005
From NewsAdvance.com comes a story of the creation of more assisted-living space.
Read the excerpt below:
A $5.5 million, 43-unit assisted living home is in the works to expand Centra Health’s range of residential choices for the elderly.
Assisted Living at the Summit in Wyndhurst will complete the span that already includes a nursing home and independent living.
“We’re targeting an opening for the fall of 2006,” said Dave Adams, Centra Health vice president of senior services and rehabilitation services.
The assisted living home will include 29 one-bedroom units and 14 studio units. Sizes will range from about 400 square feet to 600 square feet.
Assisted living is for people who don’t need a nursing home but just can’t make it on their own any more without help with such tasks as bathing or dressing. Residents won’t have to worry about meal preparation or remembering to take essential medications, but they must be able to get around on their own, either by walker or wheelchair.
