Home Instead Senior Care (HISC), the
country's leading non-medical home care service provider and source of
companionship for the elderly, will present "SUDDENLY SENIOR 2005! An
Educational Adventure in Aging" on April 7, 2005 from 7:45 am to 5 p.m. at the
InterContinental Hotel & Conference Center, 9801 Carnegie Ave.
Dr. Joyce Brothers, nationally renowned psychologist, columnist, TV and
radio personality, author, and business consultant, will deliver the
conference's keynote luncheon address, "Unlocking Your Hidden Powers at Any
Age."
Suddenly Senior 2005! will address the daily concerns of our aging
population as well as meet the increasing need to coordinate medical and non-
medical senior care.  The conference is designed to inform, educate and
entertain seniors, "almost seniors," families of seniors, caregivers,
healthcare professionals, educators, and the general public.
Session subjects include: post-retirement employment and continuing
education for seniors; dealing with dementia; other medical topics;
alternatives to traditional healthcare; tailoring a home to fit seniors'
needs; combating elder abuse; and proposed legislative changes to Social
Security, Medicare and Medicaid. A variety of vendors will exhibit practical,
creative items or services for seniors as well.
"Dr. Brothers, our excellent seminar speakers, and our expert panel
discussion members will all focus on the important issues facing seniors and
those who provide their care -- whether they are family members, professional
home care providers, or physicians," said Betty Bowers, chairperson of the
conference for Home Instead Senior Care.
In addition to HISC, sponsors are: Cuyahoga Community College and Hospice
of the Western Reserve (gold level); The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Fairhill
