Date Added: 15-06-2005
IRONWOOD -- Local dentist Dr. Tom Herfort will talk at the Ironwood senior center Wednesday at 3 p.m. He is the second speaker in a series on health issues for seniors.
Herfort's presentation, "Oral Health -- a Key to Successful Aging," is designed to give helpful information to young and old seniors alike. This is a change to learn more about how good oral health makes a difference to physical well-being as we age, and helps extend an independent and active lifestyle.
The senior health series, "Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil," is sponsored by the Older Adults Workgroup of the Human Services Coordinating Board. Presenters for these events donate their time as a community service.
Seniors who attend are invited to stay for the evening meal at 4 p.m. The menu features Veal New Orleans, boiled red potatoes, corn, bread, cantaloupe and a beverages. The suggested donation is $2.75 for seniors age 60 and older. Call 932-4200 for reservations. Those under age 60 are also invited; the meal will be priced at $5.75.
