Pillsbury House in Danvers continues mission for seniors

Danvers Herald By Myrna Fearer Thu Oct 29, 2009 Harvey and Clara Pillsbury have been benefactors of Danvers seniors since the early 1900s, and even after their deaths, they are still helping the senior population in town. Nine nonprofit agencies that provide services to older residents received a total of $48,000 in grants from the Pillsbury Foundation at a recent meeting at Angelica’s in Middleton. “Others applied, but these were the nonprofits that qualified,” said Janice Brown, longtime treasurer, explaining that the terms of the foundation are very specific and the money has to go to services that will have a direct impact on seniors.
