New director for long-term care

Del Pesco retired nine months ago after 20 years on the bench, she really did intend to take it easy. So much for that idea. Del Pesco is returning to work as the director of the Division of Long Term Care Resident Protection, a state office that oversees the licensing and certification of long-term care facilities, the investigation of alleged abuse, neglect, mistreatment or exploitation of infirm adults and the training of providers. Her appointment by Gov. Jack Markell was announced Thursday. She will start her new job Monday, replacing former director Carol Ellis.
