Disappearing pensions. Evaporating 401(k) matches. A Social Security system headed for trouble.
This isn't going to be your parents' retirement.
Not long ago, many people enjoyed their golden years supported by company-funded pensions, their own savings and Social Security. Many even had employer-funded medical coverage.
That's no longer true for the Americans who will retire in coming decades. Their companies have eliminated pension plans and medical coverage for retirees. Social Security benefits likely will be cut or delayed for future generations.
