The MidMichigan Gladwin Pines care home in Gladwin is celebrating 20 years of being a skilled nursing care facility, it has been noted.
According to NBC25 Online, the home has steadily become a "true community" to the residents who live there, as well as the volunteers and employees that work there.
With 125 beds, the facility claims to provide quality transitional 
retirementhomes.com/homes/Rehabilitation_Care/index.html” target=”_self”>rehabilitation care, long-term nursing care and dementia care, with physical occupational and speech therapists, registered dieticians, social workers and nurse aids all on site to lend a hand.
Kim Krahn, who started working at the home 18 years ago, said: "It’s not always easy for individuals or families when a loved one needs to make the move from independence to nursing home care, even to a place as nice as Gladwin Pines. But all of our staff are ready to help with that transition."
She added that the best part of her job was helping and assisting the residents and their families and getting to know everyone.
Meanwhile, Dewan Williams, clinical coordinator for the Practical Nursing program at Brown Mackie College, Ohio, has advised that family members should ensure they support the transition of a loved one to a care home, North Florida News daily reports.
