When Horace Sheats and Marguerite Pentecost first met, it was at dance in the 1930s. Sheats cut in to save Pentecost (née Bethany) from a bad dancer, and the two dated for several years before breaking up, according to the Decatur Daily.
However, two years ago, the pair met up again in a strange coincidence.
When the 90-year-old Sheats walked over to a nearby assisted living facility, he was re-introduced to Pentecost by one of her fellow residents, and they’ve been together ever since, the news source reports.
The couple spends their days socializing in the dining hall and making shopping trips in Sheats’ pick-up.
"We help each other out," Pentecost told the news provider. "We’ve been good for each other."
Though their new relationship has clearly brought joy into their lives, studies suggests that being in a relationship might actually be good for your overall health. In fact, a recent study from the University of Michigan suggests that individuals who are married are likely to live longer.
