Paula Nelson may look like your average grandmother, but she definitely does not sound like one.
The 80 year-old, who calls herself Granny G, recently appeared on the reality television show America’s Got Talent, where she wowed judges Howard Stern, Sharon Osborne, and Howie Mandel with a rap about family values and sex.
“Be more choosey about who you see; just don’t think that sex is free,” Nelson rapped on stage, telling fathers to be more active in their children’s lives She told judges that she wrote the song herself, and is currently writing a “hot” version for women.
In the pre-show interview, Nelson told interviewers that she was interested in entertaining ever since she was four years old, but marriage, children and a career as a real estate broker can “get in your way.” But at 80, it’s better late than never.
“I never thought that I would have such a wonderful opportunity,” she said.
At the end of her brief presentation, all three judges expressed their support and amazement, and she was able to move onto the next step of the competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.
If Nelson ever decides to move into an assisted living community, there’s no doubt that she’ll be one of the most popular residents around.
