Many retirement living seniors may take dancing lessons to keep in shape and stay busy. However, one group of California seniors has proven that advanced physical fitness can be achieved at any age.
The Fabulous Palm Spring Follies is a professional troupe of energetic active living seniors who sing and dance for audiences as many as nine times a week.
According to the AARP Bulletin Today, each member is between the ages of 65 and 85.
"The day may come when I wake up and think, "Well, I’m done," but I can’t conceive of that yet. I knew when I was 6 or 7 that I was going to be this woman," Judy Bell, 71, told the news source. Bell has been a dancer her entire life and has performed in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada, as well as Disneyland.
The troupe, which is based in Palm Springs, California, now holds the title in the Guinness World Records for the oldest professional chorus line.
Many active living seniors should remember that exercise is one of the best ways to look young and feel healthy. According to the Mayo Clinic, physical fitness can reduce the risk of chronic illness, improve balance and boost self-esteem.
