Revera Inc. is currently seeking an: Regional Director of Health and Wellness Job Type: Full-time Hours: Days Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON. Date Posted: May 2, 2011 ________________________________________ Job Summary The Regional Director of Health and Wellness (RDHW) will provide overall leadership to the Directors of Health and Wellness in their assigned area. They will be responsible to ensure superior resident care and financial performance. The RDHW will exemplify customer service and an approach to seniors care that promotes the concepts of autonomy, independence and wellness. Qualifications • Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current registration from the applicable provincial / state professional regulatory body and competency to perform skills within their scope of practice; Current CPR and first aid certification; • A minimum of five (5) years experience, preferably in a healthcare setting such as geriatrics, rehabilitation, home health services, health business; • A minimum of two (2) years experience in a role as a manager with experience in financial management and employee coaching; • Skills and leadership abilities in supervising and managing staff; • Effective communication skills to respectfully and compassionately with employees, older adults and their families; • Must be a competent person as defined by the Occupational Health & Safety Act; • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications • Proficiency in a second language consistent with the resident population is considered an asset. Key Responsibilities • Assumes shared management responsibility for DHW in collaboration with site ED’s. DHW are an indirect report to the RDHW. • Acts as a primary resource and support for DHWs in responding to day to day retirement operation related to the health and wellness portfolio; ensure corporate health and wellness standards are implemented; communicate and shares best practices; • Guides and supports the overall the organization and structure of the health and wellness department • Assists DHW to ensuring the appropriate level of care is determined prior to move in and necessary documentation is completed according to standards; • Participate in Client/ family conferences when necessary to address care, billing and / or other concerns; • Conducts regular site visits quality audits to ensure compliance to Revera and regulatory standards. Assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions plans; • Ensure that all assigned retirement communities maintain current, accurate and resident centric Clients Service Plans to optimize care delivery and revenue; • Conducts adverse event investigations and / or complaints as requested by manager; • Uses the corporate software (Vigilan Administrator) to monitor care outcomes, financial performance and makes recommendations and assists DHW on how to improve underperforming areas; • Provides care revenue variance reports and corrective actions to operations on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis; • Monitors staff levels related to nursing services, ensure staffing levels are optimal and meet staffing model assumptions and budgeted hours; make recommendations to adjust staffing as necessary; • Collaborates with the Executive Director in the hiring, orientation and performance appraisal of the DHW; • Provides training for health and wellness employees to ensure competency to meet client needs are meet and operating process are followed; • Creates and facilitates networking to support clinical program partnerships, suppliers and vendors, such as Pharmacy, Laboratory, Nursing Supplies, etc.; • Co-chairs regional DHW meetings providing updates on corporate programs, new standards and education; • Works closely with members of the regional teams to achieve and exceed Revera Retirement performance targets; • Provides a weekly report on all sites; • Other duties as assigned.
