The Huntington at Nashua is a full service, all-inclusive Life Care Retirement Community for Independent Retirees. The Huntington offers a 90% refundable entrance fee and the enhanced value of Life Care protection, an unlimited long term care program. Our on-site healthcare center affords residents the comfort of knowing that, if ever needed, lifetime assisted living or nursing care will be available at no additional cost. The main focus of The Huntington is encouraging healthy living for independent retirees through a variety of wellness-based programs.
Nestled in the center of 52 acres of quiet forest off of Exit One in New Hampshire, The Huntington is just minutes away from all services and amenities that Nashua, New Hampshire has to offer. We are only 40 minutes from Boston, 60 minutes to the ocean and the Lakes Region, 20 minutes to the Boston/Manchester Regional Airport and 90 minutes from the beautiful White Mountains. Nashua has also been voted twice The #1 Place to Live by Money Magazine.
Our intimate community of only 124 apartment homes offers both privacy and familiarity with the people who live here. New friends are made everyday while old friends are welcome to visit and spend the day. We have 12 different style apartments ranging from 625 square feet to 1431 square feet. Our apartment homes have fully equipped kitchens, wall to wall carpeting, ceramic tile floors and granite counters and many have bay windows. All of our ground floor apartments have inviting patios. We are also a pet friendly community. Wait List applications are now being accepted for all our apartment styles.
The Huntington is currently developing 23 two-bedroom Cottage homes ranging from 1800-2200 square feet. While details are still evolving, they will include 2-car garages, some with walk-out basements, stainless steel appliances, front loading washers and dryers, cherry cabinets and fireplaces. Other modifications can be made pre-construction by depositors, for example adding a sunroom. Residents who live in the Cottages will have full access to all the amenities and services that The Huntington already offers to its current residents and will have a different meal plan to choose from.
The majority of our residents are active, independent retirees who have decided to leave home maintenance behind and move to a community where they could live doing what they enjoy doing, not what they have to do. The average age is 78 years old and we are 50% Couples and 50% Single men and women. Our residents hail from 14 different states and a variety of occupations and careers. Many residents participate in a both volunteer opportunities as well as maintaining part time jobs. They love to travel, learn and teach others what they know. The sense of community is incredible at The Huntington; anyone who visits always leaves saying “I can’t believe how friendly everyone is!” The Residents also didn’t want the burden of care left on their children; they wanted their decisions made in advance before a need arises. They live their lives as they did in their private homes and they continue, now with more time, to do the activities, hobbies and volunteering they have always done.
Residents pay an all-inclusive Monthly Service Fee includes full access and use of all Common areas including several dining choices, Movie Theater, billiards and game room, exercise center with personal trainer, wellness center, an all-season swimming pool with spa, library and computer center, bank/ATM and woodworking shop. Private Gardening areas and open parking with snow removal are also available at no additional charge. The Monthly Service fees include continental breakfast and one meal each day, housekeeping every two weeks, all utilities (except telephone), cable, 24-hour security and emergency response and real estate taxes. Carport and Garage Parking, a beauty salon/barber shop, massage therapist, Guest Suite, audiologist and lab services are also available on-site at an additional cost. A variety of resident-driven activities are available to all residents offering extensive educational, cultural, social and recreational events.
Through our Life Care program, residents have guaranteed life time residency; both financially and medically. Our Life Care program keeps monthly fees predictable regardless of the level of care needed; the monthly fee will remain the same whether in the apartment or in our private rooms in Assisted Living or Nursing. The only additional cost charged to residents who move into the Assisted Living or Nursing is for additional meals. The 90% refundable entrance fee is guaranteed to be refunded back to either the resident or their estate. The Life Care component is considered a Tax Deductible Pre-paid Medical Expense as is a portion of the Monthly Service Fee. Those residents who already have a Long Term Care Insurance Policy are welcome to waive the Life Care. We recommend bringing in a copy of your policy for us to review with you to determine your best course of action.
Kent Village, our on-site Assisted Living and nursing center, includes all private rooms with private baths; Kent Village offers a full time Activities Director, 2 dining atmospheres as well as a beautiful outdoor courtyard for residents and families to enjoy. At Kent Village the person can receive as much help as needed with the activities of daily living as well as full housekeeping and maintenance, all meals and snacks and a variety of wellness programs.
