Located at the foothills of the Sierra Mountains, Sierra Hills Retirement Center sits in one of the most beautiful locations found anywhere. This amazing setting features a spectacular backdrop of over 600 miles of breathtaking mountain ranges, having been called the "Range of Light" by the famed American naturalist John Muir (founder of the Sierra Club) and a haven for walkers, hikers, and climbers. Those having problems with the harsh, smoggy California air can find comfort in the crisp, clean mountain fresh air of the Sierra Hills. The community itself fits perfectly into this comfortable city of 45,000, with this smaller facility creating a close knit and homey community where no one loses their identity. This location provides residents with more than just a beautiful location though, as the wonderful little city of Sierra Hills offers many wonderful amenities and nearby activities. Shopping at Target, Mervyn’s, Wal-Mart, and Sears all less than a mile and a half away, as well as many other great local shops and markets. Three golf courses are in the immediate area, including a country club, and there are two national parks close to the facility. Excellent public transportation means residents without transportation can enjoy all these wonderful activities without missing a beat. If that’s not enough, Sierra Hills occasionally provides residents with day trips to the outlet malls in Tulare (15 miles), large mall in Visalia (22 miles), or either of the two enormous malls in Bakersfield (50 miles). This facility also features horseshoe pits on site. People move in for the amazing location, and stay for the good food, good friends, and warm friendly staff |
