Medicalodges (Gardner) is a skilled nursing facility providing standard geriatric nursing, medication supervision and assistance with personal needs. We are also staffed and equipped to provide comprehensive rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation therapy, wound care, and respite care. We also offer specialized care for post-operative patients, victims of head trauma, individuals with spinal cord injury, and coma patients. In addition, we can arrange in-house hospice care for the terminally ill.
Medicalodges' skilled nursing facilities provide standard geriatric nursing and medication supervision for individuals who need moderate to heavy supervision and assistance in bathing, dressing and meeting personal needs. Health care services are organized and delivered through a plan of care individually developed for each of our residents. The plan of care combines the efforts of the attending physician and the nursing staff with other disciplines such as physical therapy, dietetics, the pharmacy and social services.
Many of our facilities also have specialized care units offering post-acute care, hospice care, treatment for Alzheimer's disease and other dementia-related illnesses. These units are equipped with the latest technology and staffed by specially trained nurses to provide sophisticated treatment to our residents. These specialty units frequently provide a cost-effective alternative to hospital stays.
Medical services are prescribed by the attending physician of the resident's choice. The facility's Medical Director oversees the entire medical and nursing regimen. Nursing services are directed by a qualified, registered Director of Nursing who has extensive experience. A well-trained, licensed nurse is on duty 24 hours a day to meet our residents' needs.
Medicalodge residents enjoy an individualized nutritional program prescribed by his or her attending physician. Snacks and nutritional supplements are available. Our residents' likes and dislikes are taken into account.
Each Medicalodge facility offers social, religious and diversional opportunities for all residents. Activity programs are scheduled seven days a week. Outside trips are scheduled and arranged. Our residents are always asked and encouraged to participate.
Medicalodge facilities are free of barriers and allow movement and access to all parts of the building and grounds. Constructed of fire-resistive materials, each facility meets all state and federal fire safety guidelines. Specially designed and equipped bathing facilities are available to our residents, and we provide complete housekeeping services. Many of our facilities have a free-standing generator capable of operating the total facility in the event of a power outage due to storms or utility failure.
All Medicalodges, Inc., skilled nursing facilities are certified for Medicare payment and more than half are covered by a Veterans Administration contract.
