INDEPENDENT program

If you choose our Independent Program, you will receive our 24 hour emergency life safety call bell system, dietary and nutritional counselling, nursing assessment and consultation, pharmacy service, weekly room cleaning, weekly change of bed linens and bath towels, three daily home-cooked meals, snacks and refreshments, leisure activities and a wellness program that can be tailored to your needs.

SUPPORTIVE program

If you choose our Supportive Program, in addition to the above, you will also receive nursing supervision, medication administration, cleaning of personal laundry, daily bed making and suite tidying, weekly full service bathing care and a daily personal care package.

AGING-IN-PLACE and A LA CARTE services

If it’s just occasional help that you need, then we have an Aging-in-Place Program where you will have a private duty attendant to care for your needs.  We also have a la carte services that are available which include any care support that you may require, customized just for you!

DEMENTIA CARE

At Kingsway Arms at Clarington Centre, we know that memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia are progressive and Residents’ needs are continually changing.   We also understand that choosing a Senior living community isn’t easy, especially if your family member has special needs.  Our trained staff in our secure area, Memory Lane, works one-on-one with families to create the high quality of life that we all wish for our loved ones.   We believe the positive benefits our Residents receive, from the programs that fill their days, ensures a sense of purpose and quality of life.

Our Specialized Dementia Care Program includes 24-hour care in a separate and fully secure home-like environment, specially trained staff, three daily home-cooked meals, stimulating activities tailored to each person’s abilities, beautifully enclosed serene gardens, 24 hour emergency response system, OHIP covered physiotherapy available throughout the week, physician visits on site, housekeeping and laundry service as well as transportation for outings.

CAREGIVER RELIEF

We understand the work involved with caregiving for someone living with Alzheimer’s disease or other memory impairments is often overwhelming and may lead to burnout.   Not only will the life of the person with Alzheimer’s change, but the needs of those caring for their loved one will change as well.  As the caregiver, you will need support and some time alone.   We are here for you!  We offer a safe, social and enjoyable environment for your loved one who is no longer independent.   Whether you need relief for a day, a week or month, our program provides a break and relief for caregivers knowing that their family member is in good hands.

LEISURE CHOICES

Kingsway Arms at Clarington Centre offers exciting activities and special events including Seniors’ dances, weekly live entertainment, karaoke nights, indoor and outdoor sporting events, birthday and anniversary celebrations and fashion events!  We plan excursions to shopping centres, concerts, theatres, casinos and many other places using our company vehicle.

If you prefer more relaxing activities, we offer a bridge club, art classes, educational seminars, horticultural club, library services and so much more.   Also for your leisure, we have a games room where you can enjoy billiards, darts, shuffleboard and Wii games.  Join our wellness centre and participate in weekly conditioning training!  The Senior friendly equipment is available for you at your leisure or work out with our Active Health physiotherapy team who will help you with your personal physical needs and goals.

MENU CHOICES

Enjoy three healthy and home-cooked meals served daily in our beautiful dining room.  Or choose to entertain you family or friends in our private dining room!  Menus are planned on a four week rotation and they are reviewed seasonally.   We offer two meal choices each day at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
