When you walk into Good Shepherd-Fairview Home, you feel welcomed by the comfortable and well kept surroundings. The Home is a multi-level retirement community with just over 200 residents. It is located in a garden-like setting in a residential neighborhood on the east side of Binghamton, a small city midway between Syracuse, New York and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Good Shepherd-Fairview Home has a 14 bed rehabilitation unit, dedicated solely to meeting the needs of people requiring rehabilitation services. It is conveniently located on the main floor, just steps from the front door and lobby. The therapy suite, a hub of activity, is on the unit.
Our therapy staff provides physical, occupational and speech therapies, tailored to meet each person’s needs. The therapists work to help rehab residents achieve their highest level of independence. Family and physicians are also closely involved.
Good Shepherd-Fairview’s rehabilitation program is unique. In addition to traditional approaches, the therapists use state-of-the-art strength training equipment, as well as cardiovascular equipment to increase endurance.
The Home’s continuing care options include independent apartments, an adult care facility and a skilled nursing facility. For more than 130 years, Good Shepherd-Fairview has offered housing and healthcare services to older adults.
