The Colonel By Retirement Residence is a secure, 3-storey luxurious stone building with three elevators. The building and suites are wheelchair and walker accessible. With 126 suites, featuring studios and one-bedrooms, each unit has individually controlled heat and air conditioning, 24-hour emergency response call system, a kitchenette and private bathroom.
The second floor is devoted to assisted living, which also includes a special care unit for our residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia. Our philosophy of Aging in Place allows Residents to remain in the residence throughout the aging process.
The Colonel By abounds with on-site services including an old-fashioned ice cream parlour, complete hair salon, and services in our non-denominational chapel.
Our common areas consist of a scenic Lookout Lounge that has a beautiful view of the Rideau Canal, an Activity Room, an elegant Library, a bright Sunroom and a spacious Garden.
