MCF Housing for Seniors

Committed to seniors since 1962, MCF Housing for Seniors is a not-for-profit organization providing affordable, safe and secure housing options for Calgary's seniors. MCF provides a variety of housing options. It is the largest subsidized senior's housing organization in Calgary and the ONLY organization offering supportive living lodge accommodations for seniors.

MCF  offers Supportive Living (NON MEDICAL STAFF), limited Alzheimer’s Care, housing and a variety of  Independent Living options in multiple locations and accommodating over 1600 seniors yearly.  Effective May, 2010 MCF will be opening the Willow Park on the Bow Apartment for more active seniors.

The supportive living lodges are in every quadrant of Calgary and provide independent seniors with housekeeping, food services. recreation and 24 hour non medical staff.

Supportive living lodges are Confederation Park Lodge, Bow Valley Lodge, Aspen Lodge, Spruce Lodge, Valleyview Lodge, Beaverdam Lodge, Shawnessy Lodge and Shouldice Lodge. Rents in all supportive living lodges are calculated as percentage of income (Line 150 or the Notice of Assessment) and begin at 58% for the smaller rooms with half baths and go up to a maximum of 73% for the most spacious rooms with a full bathroom.

MCF also owns The Westview, a private supportive living lodge retirement community. The Westview is a for profit facility offering upscale services for the value conscious senior who does not qualify for low income housing.

There are mulitple independent living buildings which include apartments, townhouses, and four plexes.

All independent units come with a kitchen that has a fridge and a stove, a private bathroom and carpet. The average age in the independent portfoloio is 79.

All subsidized applications are processed at the Administration office.
