Are You Aware? November is Long Term Care Awareness Month Can't Post Private Reply

November has officially been coined "Long Term Care Awareness Month" by the Association of Health Insurance Advisors. Long term care insurance continues to be somewhat of a mystery to a lot of people. Many in need of long term care assume either Medicaid or Medicare will take care of them (or their parents) if care is needed. Medicare pays for skilled care only, while Medicaid is part of the welfare system and provides limited options for care.

While insurance for long term care may not be for everyone, it's important anyone who thinks they may encounter a situation where it's required, educate themselves on the issues. There are lots of great resources on the web to help understand long term care.
