Girl Scout Visits to Assisted Living Facility Can't Post Private Reply

Our Girl Scout Troop will be visiting our local Assisted Living Facility at Thanksgiving time, and would like some suggestions on how best to utilize our time at the facility. We are a small Troop, only five 4th-grade girls, and hope to visit frequently and therefore make some new friends! There may be a bingo game going on that we can participate in, or we may create crafty centerpieces for the tables while we are there. Can you suggest other activities that have been enjoyed???? Thank you!

I'm sure you already enjoyed your Thanksgiving Bingo but as a former troop leader my suggestion would be to ask the admissions or social work office to see if maybe your troop could "adopt" a new resident for the holiday season -make cards, bring a treat, socks, (especially the kind with rubber tread on the bottom are always appreciated) or phone on the actual holiday. This would ease the new resident's natural anxiety and provide an opportunity for the girls to really get to know someone.
