Any suggestions welcomed re:Independant living close to family Can't Post Private Reply

Hi,
I am looking for a living situation for my parents. My father is in the beginning stages of Alzheimers. My mother is overwhelmed with the responsibilities of taking care of the house. I think it is important that they stay in the same general area. Being a retired RN, my mom is able to care for my dad as needed. Their water bill has been $300 for at least several months now. They have a leak but she is overwhelmed with making the decisions.
She also takes responsibility for a couple of family bums: including a grandson and two sons. I was thinking of an apartment style situation. I have just begun to look and am running into dead ends. Money is an issue thanks to leeching family members. (I don't mean that to sound angry). I would appreciate any advice.

Sincerely,
Nancy Meserve
