'Everybody's got a hungry heart!' – Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen is a 61-year-old rocker nicknamed "The Boss", and if he holds true to form, this electrific boomer will be traversing the globe, playing throbbing music to arena-packed crowds, hungry for his inimitable sound. On February 14, throughout North America and the world, we will witness a proliferation of cards (paper and electronic) bearing hearts, or facsimiles, declaring love and affection. Boxes of rich chocolates will be consumed, and later, romantic dinners on the town. Valentine's Day is recession-proof. The true beat of February is the human heart. In these 28 short days we will raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases, the nation's No. 1 killer, during American Heart Month. Learn and Live ® is an initiative of the American Heart Association. Heart disease affects patients & caregivers, but can be offset by CPR and ECC (Emergency Cardiovascular Care) and by following a healthy lifestyle. February is a jam-packed little month with so much to learn and do, and, we've all got hungry hearts! Stephen Winbaum is the Communications Coordinator of RetirementHomes.com ---
