Served by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, our community offers personal and nursing care and support to older adults with respect, dignity and compassion in a not-for-profit, homelike setting.

Little was known about cerebral palsy in 1946 and little hope was offered to parents of children with CP except, perhaps to, "find a good institution and get on with your lives." Love and courage prevailed, and six parents with both will and spirit reached out to everyone who would lend support to their cause--to change the destiny of children and adults with disabilities.

Unitarian Universalist House continues its commitment to remain a small place where older adults live with dignity, receive quality care and have a sense of security.

Marwood's philosophy of caring for each resident "as if they were one of our own relatives" is strongly conveyed to the staff. Harmonious relationships between the owners and staff are demonstrated by the number of years many of the staff have remained dedicated to Marwood. Many employees have over 15 years of service.
