The Alois Alzheimer Center opened in 1987 as the first specialized facility dedicated to the care, treatment, and study of Alzheimer's disease in the United States. The Alois Alzheimer Center was developed because of a strong belief that individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementia need special programs and environments to enhance function and experience a good quality of life.

The Community will house two distinctive living options – independent living, with apartment homes, penthouses and cottages, and a full continuum of care living center. Both options will have their own private entrances, staff and service options. The Stratford at Kenwood is located in the heart of a residential area close to I-71 with easy access to the metropolitan area.
