Hi all, I'm one of the millions of children of Baby-boomers who are stuck with the duties associated with taking care of loved ones. I have stopped my life and career, divorced my wife etc. due to the hardship of being a sole family member taking in the responsibilities. Now, I'm in my 40's and can no longer afford the luxury of slacking about in the jobmarket because my retirement is coming up in 20 years. Just curious to know of some legitimate residental locations for a 67 year old mother with dymensia. So far, I was able to get her into a nursing home, but they won't keep her there because she doesn't qualify for Medi-Cal. This has become a major problem in California, because she worked as a professional and made not enough to be wealthy and too much to be eligible. I am currently supplimenting her cost of living by 61%, but cannot claim her on my taxes. I am looking for a home or some sort of living arrangement for her in the West Los Angeles, California Area. Most of the facilities that I have looked at have been nothing more than money mills for foreign investors who hire mediocre non-english-speaking staff and want more than $2,700 pr month. Would love to hear from someone who knows more about this in Southern, California because most of the so-called healthcare professionals I have met are focused only on one thing"the money". I need some serious legitimate guidance on this one because, I have wasted thousands on some of these places. Thanks,Jausan@gmail.com
