Medicare benefits are determined by several factors, one is # of days. I think after 3 days in hospital you may be eligible for 20 days of rehab care. Check with the hospital where surgery took place. I don't know where you live, but if you check Compare nursing homes at medicare.gov you can find rankings, by state, that are based on factual inspections and data. This may help you find a good place. My father stayed for rehab, and then lived in, a wonderful retirement home (Ranked 5 stars, the highest!) that has a great rehab program, delicious food, and truly warm and caring staff. I was so impressed that I began volunteering there, and I now work at Snug Harbor full-time! Check out our place if you're near coastal North Carolina: Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay, www.snugharboronnelsonbay. Wherever you decide to go, I wish you the best of luck.
