Hi, I am searching for a home or occasional daycare facility for my mother. She is 55years and had a brain aneurysm 13 years ago. My step-father and grandmother (her mom) have been caring for her since the aneurysm happened. My grandmother is now getting on in age and is not as capable of caring for her as she once was.
I need a facility that is staffed by nursing or medical personnel that can administer meds and tube feed. She also needs bathing and dressing care. My brothers and I have been helping out lately because my grandmother has become ill. This is putting a huge strain on our individual lives. The four of us are now having to leave work and put off other obligations to feed 2 times in the mid-day because the health care agency for the medicaid program will not tube feed. I would ultimately like to find a daycare facility if at all possible, but if not, then I will consider an alzheimers facility. We are located in the Charlotte NC area and need the facility to be here.
Any help you can offer or suggestions you can make are greatly appreciated.

I was in the same situation not too long ago, needing a place for my mother. I don't know how much assistance you mom may need but I had found some great resources on the web. The one that really helped me was: www.nursinghomealternatives.com
