What if anything does Medicare pay for in assisted living homes?

We just came from an ind living/asst living facility in GA for my parents. I think she said MediCADE was the one that could be involved, however if there are VA benefits available, you could start there.

Medicare generally does not pay the long term care costs. The assistance from Medicare is very restrictive; whereas the daily activities such as bathing or dressing are not covered by Medicare. It only pays for skilled nursing or home health care.
If you are looking for investment or insurance that will give you the best benefit, then you must go for long term care insurance. Unfortunately, Medicare coverage is very limited. In fact, it doesn't cover all the expenses related to long-term care, including assisted living facility costs for a long period of time. Medicare has a limitation of 100 days or less.

I don't think so the medicare facility covers a long term medical facility for a person, as it always limited to some extent. Where as, to get or buy an old age home which already contains all necessary and luxuries facilities for elders is a much better option. along with nursing facility. As some of old age home providers, providing all that at some reasonable prices.
