Poplar Living Center
Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with coordination of services by outside health careproviders. Assistance may include the administration or supervision of medication, or personal care services provided by a trained staff person. Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. Housing arrangements for the future can be a stressful, anxiety-provoking topic for you and your family. Independent living is a general name for any housing arrangement designed exclusively for seniors. The housing is friendlier to older adults, more compact, with easier navigation and assistance in outside maintenance. A nursing home may be a good choice if you need a higher level of care temporarily after a hospitalization, but it’s anticipated you will be able to return to home or another facility after a period of time. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. The usual retirement home pattern is that each person or couple in the home has an apartment-style room or suite of rooms. Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. Staff is available twenty-four hours a day. More than two-thirds of the states use the licensure term assisted living.
