Woodside Lutheran Home

Woodside Lutheran Home is licensed for skilled and intermediate care residents. Nursing care is provided by licensed and certified nursing assistant staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have occupancy for 168 residents, with choices of semi-private, private and deluxe rooms. We take a great deal of pride in the care and concern shown our older adults through a competently trained staff, and the “homey” atmosphere of our facility.

Each wing of the nursing home has its own dining room. Our residents enjoy excellent food, which is one of the highlights of the day. Special diets are handled by a consultant dietitian.

The wing lounges are large and comfortable, enabling residents to visit with families and/or friends. We also have three privacy lounges.

Many recreational, cultural and social activities are provided by the staff, under the direction of an Activities Director. An organized Volunteer Program provides assistance for many of the functions - i.e. chapel services, bingo, entertainment, etc.

We have a team of rehabilitation specialists, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists devoted to a comprehensive rehab program for residents and tenants with a wide variety of diagnoses. Physical therapists focus on treatment to improve mobility, ambulation, decrease pain and improve strength and endurance. Occupational therapists provide services specializing in improving an individual’s ability to carry out activities of daily living. The speech-language pathologists provide on-going therapy for language, voice and communication, and swallowing difficulties.

The Chaplain/Pastor in our Pastoral Care Department offers a Word and Sacrament Ministry to all residents, regardless of denomination. This Ministry includes several worship services weekly in our beautiful Chapel, counseling to individual residents and staff, and seeks to keep parish clergy aware of the needs of their resident members. Roman Catholic Mass is served weekly by Priests from a nearby parish. Our Chaplain, also, provides limited pastoral care to the tenants of Woodside Oaks, Woodside Manor, and the residents in the Special Care Unit. Closed circuit television is available from the Chapel of the nursing home.
