Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. Other licensure terms used for this philosophy of care include Residential Care Home, Assisted Care Living Facilities, and Personal Care Homes. Independent living is a general name for any housing arrangement designed exclusively for seniors. A nursing home is normally the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. A retirement home is a multi-residence housing facility intended for senior citizens. A nursing home is a place of residence for people who require constant nursing care and have significant deficiencies with activities of daily living.
