Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with monitoring of resident activities to help to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. A nursing home is normally the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with activities of daily living. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. A retirement home is a multi-residence housing facility intended for senior citizens. Some facilities provide minor help with medications as well. Assisted living is a philosophy of care and services promoting independence and dignity. Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care. Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. Retirement homes are privately owned rental accommodations for seniors who are able to manage and pay for their own care.
