Denton Good Samaritan Village
The town of Denton, which is the county seat of Denton County, is home to both Texas Women's University and the University of North Texas. Both universities offer rich cultural opportunities as well as widely recognized programs related to aging, which allows a rich resource for well-qualified staff members. Many residents are graduates of one or both universities, and retired professors and college administrators join many other professionals from all over the United States to comprise a delightful resident population.
Denton Good Samaritan Village provides a holistic activities program for each of its residential sectors. These programs are led by certified activity directors and operate within the broader context of life enrichment for every resident.
The facility is served by Texas Good Samaritan Home Health, and the health care center enjoys the use of state-of-the-art equipment. Denton Good Samaritan Village is unique within the Good Samaritan system because of its affiliation with Wellspring, a nationally recognized best practices program enhancing its nursing care service. Occupational, physical and speech therapies are provided. Eighty-nine of the health center beds are Medicare certified; there are also Medicaid-certified beds.
Denton County is on the famous Chisholm Trail, and is second only to Lexington, Ky., in the number of thoroughbred horses it raises. Rustic ranches, historic iron bridges and herds of longhorn cattle offer authentic backdrops for many western movies and television shows (such as Bonnie and Clyde and Walker:Texas Ranger). The many sights and attractions of Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area are just minutes away.
