The Oaks at Pleasant Gap

who are we?

Retirement villages and retirement communities, unlike retirement homes, offer separate and autonomous homes for residents. Each state licensing agency has its own definition of the term it uses to describe assisted living. The usual retirement home pattern is that each person or couple in the home has an apartment-style room or suite of rooms. Some facilities provide minor help with medications as well. Assisted living emerged in the 1990s as an eldercare alternative on the continuum of care for seniors for whom Independent living is no longer appropriate but who do not need the 24-hour medical care provided by a nursing home. Retirement homes are also called retirement residences. A nursing home may be a good choice if both medical and personal care needs have become too great to handle at home. A nursing home may be a good choice if both medical and personal care needs have become too great to handle at home. A nursing home is normally the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. A place in a retirement home can be paid for on a rental basis, like an apartment, or can be bought in perpetuity on the same basis as a condominium. There is a wide range of home care services that can help you maintain your independence within the comfort of your own home, from in home help to day care. Generally, retirement homes are designed for seniors who need minimal to moderate support with their daily living activities. A nursing home may be a good choice if both medical and personal care needs have become too great to handle at home.

    My Parents Live Here
I’m so glad my mom has moved to your community. My sister just visited her and saw how happy she is and in what capable care she’s in. It’s such a relief, especially to me being so far away, to know that she’s in good hands.

I would like to express the gratitude of my wife and I for the superior care my mother in-law has received at your facility. The consideration that you give the residents with the daily activities provided as well as the caring staff who tends to her needs is commendable.

When we visit, we find the various staff members we encounter to be courteous, pleasant and knowledgeable of their specific role(s) in the organization. The interactions we have observed between patients and staff are likewise excellent.

I just wanted to pass on a compliment from a woman who lives in an apartment. She said she has noticed recently that everyone at St. Anne’s has been exceptionally friendly and cheerful. She asked if we have had some kind of training and I did explain briefly our Heart program and the emphasis on customer service. She feels that it is working and was touched by how kind everyone has been. Keep up the good work – we are making a difference.

After moving to St. Anne's Retirement Community 10 months ago, I have absolutely no regrets making the decision to move here. My satisfaction in living here has exceeded my expectations. All my dealings with staff have left me with a impression that they are caring people. It came, as no surprise to me shortly after moving here that I discovered Medicare awarded St. Anne's Retirement Community with a five star rating (highest rating).

As fine as the leisure living is here at St. Anne's perhaps the greatest benefit is privilege of getting together with the nuns at St. Anne's to participate in the daily liturgy and community prayer. Even people with disabilities have the golden opportunity to participate in daily liturgies and receive valuable spiritual advice that helps us with our struggles in life. I would highly recommend St. Anne's Retirement Home to anyone looking for an excellent place to retire to in Lancaster county area.
