Farmington Square of Salem
The five residential cottages at the Salem facility are referred to by their numbered addresses off Boone Road SE – 910, 920, etc. The single-story buildings are located on a beautiful campus-like setting with numerous shrubs and trees on the well-kept grounds.
The 960 cottage is for assisted care, offering meals, housekeeping, laundry services and personal assistance with bathing and medications for a mostly mobile population. Upon entering the building, one immediately notes the beautiful living room with a windowed copula and large fireplace. The dining room is at the side of a large gathering area which has the feel of an indoor garden and features a grand piano.
The enhanced care (910 building) is for the enjoyment of those residents with greater mobility issues and in need of two person assists in some of their daily activities. The dining room faces a wall of windows, with views of an interior open-air courtyard with trees and plants. A patio off the back of the building offers another outdoor views.
A similar design in the 930 cottage, called “Transitions,” is for those mobile residents with memory issues who are “transitioning” from other living settings. The secure building offers safety for residents and a fenced walking area for exercise around two sides of the building.
The 940 and 950 buildings have a design that incorporates the latest features in Alzheimer’s care. Their floor plan is a large “H” ensuring that residents of the 12-apartment buildings will be able to easily find their way. Both buildings feature beautifully decorated small living rooms and private dining rooms available for use by residents’ families throughout the campus. Both buildings also have secure, fenced outdoor yard areas.
