A place in a retirement home can be paid for on a rental basis, like an apartment, or can be bought in perpetuity on the same basis as a condominium. Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. You have a close network of nearby family, friends, and neighbors. Some facilities provide minor help with medications as well. A nursing home is normally the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care. Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. The housing is friendlier to older adults, more compact, with easier navigation and assistance in outside maintenance.
