A retirement home is a multi-residence housing facility intended for senior citizens. You have a close network of nearby family, friends, and neighbors. Generally, retirement homes are designed for seniors who need minimal to moderate support with their daily living activities. A nursing home is a place of residence for people who require constant nursing care and have significant deficiencies with activities of daily living. The usual retirement home pattern is that each person or couple in the home has an apartment-style room or suite of rooms. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. A nursing home is normally the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. The housing is friendlier to older adults, more compact, with easier navigation and assistance in outside maintenance. More than two-thirds of the states use the licensure term assisted living. A nursing home, convalescent home, Skilled Nursing Unit, care home or rest home provides a specific type of care for its residents. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care.
