Retirement Homes & Senior Housing

A retirement home is a multi-residence housing facility intended for senior citizens. Retirement villages and retirement communities, unlike retirement homes, offer separate and autonomous homes for residents. Senior Housing - find independent and assisted living facilities, nursing homes, retirement communities, and other elderly care. An assisted living facility may be a good choice if you donít need the round-the-clock medical care and supervision of a nursing home. Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. Retirement homes are also called retirement residences. The housing is friendlier to older adults, more compact, with easier navigation and assistance in outside maintenance. Independent living is a general name for any housing arrangement designed exclusively for seniors. Other licensure terms used for this philosophy of care include Residential Care Home, Assisted Care Living Facilities, and Personal Care Homes. A nursing home, convalescent home, Skilled Nursing Unit, care home or rest home provides a specific type of care for its residents. Staff is available twenty-four hours a day. Assisted living is a philosophy of care and services promoting independence and dignity. A nursing home is normally the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. A nursing home is a place of residence for people who require constant nursing care and have significant deficiencies with activities of daily living. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care. Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. A nursing home may be a good choice if you need a higher level of care temporarily after a hospitalization, but itís anticipated you will be able to return to home or another facility after a period of time. Retirement homes are also called retirement residences.
